about

Driven by an insatiable curiosity to understand other people and cultures, life has taken me to many places — both in person and on the web.

I was born in Kano, Nigeria, but was raised in Seattle where I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington. I recently completed my master’s degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Edinburgh where I researched the branding of teaching English in South Korea for my dissertation. My research interests include the city, memory, identity, and branding.

A believer in putting theory into practice, I am currently working in digital and brand strategy in New York City. I spend my days scouring the web for ideas and trends, managing social media and coming up with ways for brands to meaningfully engage with audiences.

Prior to my forays in strategy, I did content production, archival work and community outreach for Idealist.org, StoryCorps, CouchSurfing.org and other nonprofit organizations. My social good and strategy background enables me to focus on how to help brands change the world in a positive, innovative and creative way.

When I’m not on the web or in meetings, I can be found cycling in Brooklyn, supporting my fashion addiction and eating way too much mochi ice cream.
