How can we create a loving and equitable workplace?

“Only one thing is more frightening than speaking your truth. And that is not speaking.”

— Audre Lorde

Speak truth to power to create a society where we all feel safe

The highest performing teams
have one thing in common: psychological safety

Google Re:Work Study

Once upon a time, I was a painfully shy straight-A student who rarely said a word during meetings. Over the years, I found my voice and my sense of purpose overcame my fear.

I went on to become a Chief Operations Officer of a VC-backed startup in London to a Community Organizer based in Oakland speaking truth to power in boardrooms, over Zoom and on the street, mobilizing executives, workplaces leaders and individual contributors to co-design a world where we all feel safe.

I bring an interdisciplinary and intersectional lens to workplace inequity with a focus on racial, sexual and economic justice.

If you’d like to co-design a culture of love, safety and social justice

We can empower you and your people to be radically equitable and socially just leaders.

As a queer Filipina American born in Nigeria who came to the States as an undocumented immigrant, I have spent my entire life transforming oppression and trauma into a profound source of love, courage and belonging - for myself and my community.

I found your class powerful and you are truly inspiring. I admired your ability to speak up for yourself when something's not right, your confidence and everything you say, you say with such passion.

— Jay Grant, Admissions Manager, General Assembly, London

This program can be broken down into individual sessions from a 90-min interactive motivational keynote to a multi-day leadership offsite , delivered in person or over Zoom

Look inward at your own internal oppression

This journey starts inside. Hold critical and compassionate space for yourself to radically reflect on your own power, privilege and oppression across race, gender, sexuality, nationality and other forms of identity — and how that impacts the way you show up in the world.

Hold space for difficult collective conversations with compassion and courage

Deepen your skills in holding space and facilitating hard group conversations — whether it’s calling out a racist micro injustice in real-time, providing support to a traumatized BIPOC employee who has been triggered or talking to an employee who believes All Lives Matter.

Create an agile, compassionate anti-racist strategic roadmap

Create a 2020 strategic plan, informed by global research insights on the future of work, anti-racism and DEI, outlining key goals, metrics, programs, initiatives and tools for a remote or blended workforce with a focus on Black employees and your most vulnerable communities (such as but not limited to other people of color, frontline workers, parents, people living alone, people with a history of mental illness) to achieve an ambitious vision for your organization with compassion and equity.

Inspire stakeholders to buy into a bold equitable vision

Create a stakeholder engagement map, strategy and practices to advocate for what is needed — whether it’s more budget, attention from senior leadership or participation in difficult and uncomfortable conversations.

Cultivate a culture of allyship and anti—oppression

Develop a strategy for developing a culture of allyship that fights racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms oppression while deepening your personal practice in proactive advocacy, listening and empathy to support your Black employees and your most vulnerable communities in a way that feels meaningful, authentic and specific to their needs amidst the Pandemic.

Develop a culture of radical equity on Zoom

Create a culture of psychologically safe meetings where everyone’s voice is equitably heard, particularly communities that have been historically excluded, such as but not limited to Black employees and people of color, women, people who speak English as a second language, people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ communities.

Develop a society of compassionate leadership

Co-create a global social justice strategy with our leadership community that breaks down silos and aligns our independent organizational efforts to work towards a society where wealth and power are more equitably distributed.

This journey is messy and agile — the areas of focus are recommended and can transform based on the needs of your organization, health risks imposed by COVID-19 and global current events.
